Why Choose Us

We Don't Just Sell Plants.
We Help Them Survive Your Home.

Most big-box stores hand you a pot and wish you luck. At Highmount Greenhouse, we match you with plants that fit your light, your schedule, and your lifestyle — then tell you exactly how to care for them.

Plants Matched to Your Space

Low light? Busy traveler? Pet-friendly only? Tell us your conditions and we'll recommend plants that actually thrive — not just survive — in your home.

Rare & Hard-to-Find Varieties

From variegated monstera to unusual succulents, our rotating selection includes plants you won't find at the chain stores — sourced from trusted growers.

Expert Care Guides Included

Every plant comes with a care tag and our team will walk you through watering, light, and seasonal needs — no plant-parent guilt required.

Locally Grown & Grown-With-Care

Many of our seasonal displays and perennials are propagated right here in York County, so they're already acclimated to our climate and ready to go in your garden.

What York Says

Loved by Plant Parents Across York County

Don't take our word for it — here's what our regulars have to say about shopping at Highmount Greenhouse.

"I went in for one pothos and walked out with three plants, a bag of soil, and a ceramic pot — plus a handwritten care sheet. This place treats you like you actually know what you're doing, which is rare."

M
Megan R. York, PA

"Their seasonal displays are unmatched. Every spring I come here for my garden beds and leave with something for the house too. The staff actually remembers my name now — that's how local this feels."

D
Dennis T. York, PA

"I'm a total beginner and I was terrified of killing everything. The team here spent 20 minutes helping me pick plants that fit my apartment's light and gave me a simple routine. Two years later, my plants are still alive and growing."
